Bolton House

In a bustling young city like Limerick, the ideal home is one that creates a peaceful retreat away from the noisiness of everyday life. For our client, a busy young professional, this concept couldn’t be more important for their new home. The aesthetics of Bolton House encompasses a calming, effortless interior that playfully challenges the boundaries of minimalism and opulence in each room.

As with many homes, the interior design started with the kitchen. The amber chocolate Island we designed is wrapped in a honed charcoal countertop which waterfalls down the side. Standing like a piece of sculpture among a clean run of warm white kitchen cabinetry, it allows for monochrome furnishings and black hardware which our client loved, to become a part of the interiors more naturally.

Balance is created with bold forms against finer details in furnishings and lighting. Deep rich colours found in nature are framed by a softer neutral palette. The colour scheme flows throughout the home reflected from the kitchen to the bedrooms. Autumnal tones are peppered throughout joinery, furnishings, textures and accessories allowing for the space to always hold a sense of warmth, even on those darker winter nights. Inspiration for this project was influenced by early autumn evenings and the client's love for the modern Californian style.

“Helena and Tracey worked with me on this substantial fit out project. I was thrilled with the end results and the process form start to finish was clear, well thought out and communicated to me very efficiently. They were able to answer all my questions and were very diligent in their dealings. Would highly recommend”
