Wood View House
The social power of the open plan space. The clients of Wood View House, a new build outside Cork City, commissioned Serpentine Interiors to help design their open plan layout - including kitchen, dining and living areas. This was the part of the home in which they felt they really needed help to get the layout, function and material scheme right. The residents, a couple of young professionals, dreamed of a comfortable living space where they could listen to music, and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee, whilst keeping the chef company was paramount.

We designed the kitchen to maximise and fully utilise every corner of storage and optimise the workspace without losing a sense of lightness. For the colour scheme, we envisioned a calming, carefree palette grounded by a warm, mid-tone floor for an earthy soothing atmosphere. The tone and flow of the space naturally call you to unwind after a long day of work. Layered with textures, clean lines and some quirky artwork, the open-plan room becomes the perfect canvas for everyday memories to be made.
